Mental health in the workplace

Did you know, 91% of adults in the uk have experienced some level of ‘burnout’ in the last year? That’s a staggering amount of people not coping.

Burnout comes when we do too much, take on what we don’t feel capable of or are overwhelmed by ‘the straw that breaks the camel’s back’ life events.

Overwhelm and burnout can affect us mentally, physically and emotionally. Building resilience is crucial in helping us become more robust in the fast moving world of commerce, business and trade. Yet understandably, the terms ‘relaxation’ ‘calm’ and ‘well-being’ don’t seem to gel well in those arenas. It’s left to us to manage our work/life mechanisms as separate entities.

What if we incorporated mental health support and the tools to build resilience into the expected model of a workplace? How might that look? Not just break out rooms and chill out spaces, not just once a year ‘well-being’ events, but rather a deeply embedded workplace culture and mindset of signposting in house to improve, manage and build mental health resilience?

With nearly 300,000 people fully out of work due to mental health concerns in 2025, it’s surely time to revisit how we support our workforce.

NLP offers a range of tools and techniques: both accessed with a practitioner and as a self led practice. It offers the real possibility of a mindset shift mid crisis, but better still, it builds resilience and a nervous system to match, as a preventative measure.

I offer keynote sessions to workplaces on all things NLP, nervous system reset and mindful working. I also offer workshops teaching techniques and methods from NLP to breathwork, meditation to relaxation and everything in between. Let’s reset the workforce. Let’s recalibrate a generation. Burn out? Be gone!
